Awesome. Lorica segmentata. You got away with using cool colours for the figure and warm ones for the background. Very effective.
I enjoyed your blog too. Your method is rather like what Maxfield Parrish used to do. Does not work so well with clothes, though, because each type of cloth has its own way to fall and fold, and sometimes you say to yourself: 'Wait- the princess is wearing cheesecloth?' That happens to the brothers Hildebrand.
I've been painting in acrylics for years too, but my paintings do not reproduce well. And I no longer get a kick from making them, or pen drawings. Now I'm doing mainly little things, cartoons and such, merely line drawing with digital colouring, and hey, I'm having some fun.
